Introducing the Jackson Wallet

Introducing the Jackson Wallet

The Jackson Wallet is minimalist leather card wallet designed to comfortably fit into your front pocket with long lasting quality. Each piece is handcrafted from start to finish by Jeff Curry in the Treefort Lifestyles' workshop.  We first started working with leather when we couldn't find a satisfactory leather label, today we are introducing our first full-grain U.S sourced leather wallet.

Jeff started working with leather last summer after a local maker gave us a bunch of scraps to work with. So we started making logos, learned the dying process and how to emboss the leather.  Shortly after Jeff started making leather surfboards and learned more traditional leather working techniques because he wanted to build a quality product that would last a lifetime.  Each time a piece came out he would instinctively look for ways to make it better, piece by piece.

Making the airbender surfboard

"I was lucky enough to get some advice from some really talented craftsman in Portland.  Through their help and guidance I picked up some tools and started building a small leather workshop.  Once I finished the surfboard design I gained enough confidence to build a wallet.  I never have cash on me, so I made a small card wallet for myself and tested it out.  I enjoy the process of making something from start to finish, I never expected to be working with leather but it got addicting real quick.  The thing I love about leather the most is the way it ages, with time it only gets better. The Jackson Wallet

Each wallet is made in our workshop based out of our garage at home.  The Leather is broken down from a hide that Jeff picks out in Portland, Oregon.  Each leather piece is hand cut, dyed, treated, and embossed.  The pieces are sanded, glued and hammered together to ensure its longevity before the thick stitch is sewn into place. Careful edge work and small detailing is done to give the wallet a clean look that will only get better with age.

Making leather wallets in the garage

Throughout the entire project we are able to support local shops.  We upgraded our sewing machine with a used machine from a business that refurbishes old industrial machines, the leather, supplies, and stamps are bought in Portland, OR.  The leather dies are made in Vancouver, WA and the labels are printed in Sandy.  Special thanks goes out to Khai Krepela, Japser Newton and Lucas Wachs for being some of the first buyers and testers to help dial in the final design and size.

Treefort leather keychain

In addition to the Jackson Wallet we are now offering a NEW Keychain. Each piece is handcrafted similar to the wallets that gives the same timeless look.
